EasyDocs

Next.js, TypeScript, IndexedDB

Local-first batch document designer that overlays spreadsheet data on PDF, image, and Word templates, then exports personalized PDFs.

Overview

EasyDocs is a local-first document designer for producing personalized PDFs in batches. Users place spreadsheet columns over a document preview, tune text placement, and export individual PDFs or a combined PDF and ZIP archive.

Workflow

  • Templates: PNG, JPG, PDF, DOC, and DOCX files. Word documents are converted to PDF pages locally using a LibreOffice WebAssembly runtime.
  • Recipient data: CSV, XLS, XLSX, and XLSM files, including multi-sheet workbooks.
  • Field placement: Position spreadsheet columns on a page and configure source column, page, size, color, and alignment.
  • Batch output: Generate PDFs for valid rows, with individual files, a combined PDF, and a ZIP of successful results.

Implementation and privacy

The app is built with Next.js and TypeScript. Spreadsheet parsing, PDF overlays, and exports run in the browser; templates, rows, mappings, and outputs are kept in IndexedDB. No account or product backend is required, and document content is not sent to a conversion service. Older batches and templates are removed when the app opens after seven days.

DOC/DOCX conversion can change pagination or fonts, and the current PDF text overlay supports Latin characters only. Hindi and Sanskrit are not currently supported. The documented data inputs do not include direct Google Sheets integration, and signature handling is not listed as a feature.

Status

The hosted application is available. Review generated previews and print a sample before relying on a template; conversion fidelity depends on the source document and browser.
